As of Q2 2025, Blueleaf Energy’s Hinode Energy, had a 19 project, 194.2 MWp development pipeline for solar in Japan.

In 2021, Blueleaf Energy and Univergy International formed a joint venture (JV) company, Hinode Energy, to serve one of the world’s largest sola markets, Japan. Headquartered in Tokyo, Hinode Energy is delivering high-quality, cost-effective solar energy projects that contribute to Japan’s decarbonization goals.

Hinode brings together Univergy’s local insights and experience developing over one GW of solar in Japan since 2012, with Blueleaf Energy’s engineering expertise and financial capability. By 2024 Hinode was on track to exceed its initial commitment to develop over 200 MW of solar in its initial stage.
