At Robert Bosch (M) Sdn Bhd’s automotive electronics plant in Penang, Malaysia, Blueleaf Energy has successfully completed and energized a 3 MWp rooftop solar power plant. This significant installation, featuring 7,500 solar panels across 24,500 m² of rooftop space (equivalent to 3.5 FIFA standard football fields), stands as one of Malaysia’s largest rooftop photovoltaic systems.
This project operates on a self-consumption basis, providing clean energy directly to Bosch’s facility. It also offers Bosch the opportunity to sell any excess generated energy back to the grid under Malaysia’s Net Energy Metering (NEM) scheme. To date, this is the largest solar system in Penang under this scheme.
Despite the unprecedented challenges posed by COVID-19, the project was completed on time and to the highest safety and quality standards, reflecting Blueleaf Energy’s commitment to resilient and reliable clean energy solutions.
