In partnership with UEM, Blueleaf Energy is developing a 500-megawatt (MW) hybrid solar project in Malaysia. The project, which is included in the Malaysian government’s National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR) has been in development since 2023, and accounts for half of UEM Group’s flagship one gigawatt (GW) hybrid solar power plant venture.

In partnership with UEM’s green industry arm, UEM Lestra, Blueleaf Energy and ITRAMAS will deliver the project with an installed capacity of 750 MW peak (MWp) and an annual generation capacity of over 1,000 GWh. Once commissioned, the green energy power plant is projected to prevent 800,000 tons of CO2 emissions (CO2e) annually, contributing to Malaysia’s climate commitment of achieving 40% renewable energy in its power mix by 2035 and 70% by 2050.
